  •  The most hilarious statement: (4+ / 0-)

Walker’s deputy chief of staff Kelly Rindfleisch replied: “That is hilarious. And so true.

It so TRUE? Did he really say TRUE?

I know the aide didn't mean literally true, but the success of the right's agenda is in a large part due to the creation of stereotype in people's minds.

It doesn't matter that the person who successfully signed their dog up for benefits is the first cousin to Harvey the rabbit, it is creating and reinforcing the myth that is important.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

I think the scary part is that they believe it is true ( on a certain level).  They don't see it as them making fun of/insulting welfare recipients, they truly believe that's how poor people think.  To them everyone on welfare is a big ol' scammer out to suck the system dry.

In other words, they think all poor people act like the parasitic 1% (like the guy who was getting a military disabled pref for hurting his ankle playing prep school football that Tammy Duckworth tried to instill some common decency in).

It's the John Stossel mentality (the homeless make more on your charity than they would at McD's, they're homeless as a big scam)

They just don't get that most people don't look at the world through sociopathic eyes & when we ask for help, it's because we need it, not because we're out to milk the system.

        "the John Stossel Mentality."  EXACTLY.

"A typical vice of American politics is the avoidance of saying anything real on real issues." Theodore Roosevelt.
