    after the British voted down military action, after Congress, responding to the overwhelming will of the American people, showed its reluctance to vote for war, and after Putin (yes, that same Putin) put an attractive peace offer on the table, Obama grudgingly agreed, still grumbling about "red lines" and claiming it was going to damage the world's credibility not to take a hard line against Assad.

    They wanted war--it was only when the entire freakin' rest of the world and a super-supermajority of the American public weighed in that war was averted. It wasn't Obama's wisdom and compassion, that's for sure. Unless you think we should praise him for having basic sanity.

    Luckily, we've got a Commander in Chief with a brain and a heart who uses both.
    Um, Obama's never running for president again. You really don't need to be laying it on so thick.
