    of this bit of speculation.

But has Obama directed the INS to step up deportations?

I have wondered if the increase could owe in part to Democrats just being better at government?

. . .  wish they were better at being Democrats while in government , with this issue high on that list.

you will notice that Bush2 did a lot more than Clinton.  I wonder if a lot of the people he hired are still there.

    •  Deportations are not really up.. (4+ / 0-)

First off.. total deportations are down 10% from 2012.

Second, the Obama admin decided to include border returns at the border in the "deportations" total.

The increases have all been border returns, as opposed to real removals.  The border guards have simply gotten better at doing what they do.

Real deportations - actual removals of people residing in the US - are actually down over the past 4 years.

It is ironic that the stats the Obama Administration have been touting to show their "tough on immigration" creds, are now actually backfiring for Dems politically.
