    reaction, and I am not Jewish either.

    I think if I were Jewish, I would not only be offended, but quite angry as well.

    This reminds me of Republicans who think/assert that black people only voted for President Obama because he is black.  Or a better example, when John McCain selected Palin as his running mate because he thought that would get him the women vote.

    To assume that any of these people (Jewish, black or women) would vote against their best interest in favor of Republicans because they have some token representation of what they think we want is just annoying to me.

    PS if this example is offensive to anyone who is Jewish (or anyone else for that matter)  I apologize.  I know based on Mets102's diary that there is a bigger and more worrisome issue at stake, and I did not intend to diminish it.  Just trying to explain (possibly to myself) why I found this so insulting and infuriating.
