  •  I grew up in a right wing echo chamber (16+ / 0-)

The daughter of two (now retired) Southern Baptist missionaries.  My parents taught me to think for myself, but only inasmuch as it agreed with their worldview- and it NEVER did. So I was pretty much told to STFU and deal... I had to listen to the nonsense being regurgitated all over the place and was rarely, if ever, given the opportunity to have a contrary opinion, or an opinion at all.

I post here because it gives me an outlet for my thoughts on any given subject. I may agree, or disagree, with what I am responding to, but at the very least- I get to have my say.

I've learned a lot from other posters here, and even when we vehemently disagree, sometimes I find a nugget or two of truth that adds depth to my worldview.
