  •  Nope. (8+ / 0-)

As an elementary teacher for the last 38 years, I've never seen a kid bring lunch in a bag. Those that bring lunch typically have some sort of insulated lunch carrier.  Actually secondary school kids seem to use them as well. These aren't the childish metal or plastic lunch boxes we saw in past years.

    •  If you do see one of those childish boxes, (6+ / 0-)

take them aside and have a word with them.

A vintage Thundercats lunch box is worth bucks in the right circles.

    •  Well, I guess your experience puts the lie to this (7+ / 0-)
He told Eloise he didn’t want a free lunch. He wanted his own lunch, one in a brown paper bag, just like the other kids.
      What other kids?

It shows how out of touch Republicans are with real life that they still imagine average Americans are living a cliched 1950's TV version of reality.

And when they smugly lie, thinking they are being clever and fooling us, they are really showing how out of touch they are.

      •  And stores are charging for bags these days (2+ / 0-)

as well.  No one is going to send a kid off with a bag they just paid a dime for.
The Goopers are incompetent in everything they do - they can't even get bullshit right!

      •  SOME are living a clichéd 1950's TV view (0+ / 0-)

... and they want these shows to be on DVD fully pressed (not burned, as with Warner Archive), on Blu-Ray, as seen in the message board posts at this website (Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?) and this blog post about the similar attitudes (Well I Heard Mister Young Sing About Her). Hopefully the big studios won't oblige them by doing a lot of releases of old shows on DVD-we need to advance to the future while dealing with the present.

And we know they lie. Remember Todd Akin and "legitimate rape"? I want to know the names of all of those quacks who told him that a woman couldn't get pregnant if she was "legitimately" raped because "her body has a way of shutting that down." I would make damn sure that friends and family would never go to those quacks for anything. Of course he couldn't supply those names because there isn't a legitimate doctor who would ever say it. Another lie just like Ryan with absolutely no proof. Typical repuglican BS.
