Medicare's 7 extra years of solvency.
The prescription drug doughnut-hole closing for seniors.
Women not being charged more for their health coverage.

Is that really what you baggers (Left, Right and Center) want?

    •  One - I'm not a bagger but I will answer (6+ / 0-)

your questions (btw, I'm on the left).

The medicare's 7 extra years of solvency would extend  longer if instead of giving money to for-profit insurance companies, Medicare got the money.  Seems simple to me.

Prescription drug doughnut hole should never have happened, so Yes, I want it closed (and being a senior, it would be nice).

Being female may be a pre-existing condition, but we shouldn't be charged extra, since both males and females have breasts (check out the nipples on a male body builder - ahhh); while women have a uterus (cancer, birth etc.), men have prostates (cancer), testicles (cancer and other problems, etc.). Men get Viagra (or similar) but men complain about women getting birth control.

      •  You are right, woolibaar, but we would not have (3+ / 0-)

any sort of affordable health care  at all if the bill authorizing it had put the for-profit insurance companies out of business.

What we've got is (1) better than what we had before, and (2) a step in the right direction.

What you would prefer is sensible and wise.  What Obama and Democrats in Congress were able to achieve is the very most that was politically possible at the time.  It is a huge achievement, and the hard Right is terrified of it and how it will progress.

          •  Exactly GideonAB, but I, for one, don't know how (0+ / 0-)

to achieve that.  (Except, of course, corporations should not be "people" under the law (unless the corporate CEO is liable for jail time.)

We can hope that as people realize what "universal health care" is about, they will finally realize how awful (almost spelled it "offal") the current system is and start pushing for real reform. Maybe if the Rethug are finally the minority (or worse) that they deserve to be, we can actually make some changes for the better.

Unfortunately, there are too many DINOs in Congress to actually accomplish a more progressive (as opposed to what we have now, not necessarily the "progressive" agenda) agenda. Maybe if we all wish real hard, Tinkerbelle will actually live!!
