I'm going to go out of a limb and say that maxschell probably should have checked that out before posting this diary.  What's the point in speculating about the Senate run of someone who lives somewhere that doesn't have any Senators, especially when that person has never expressed any interest in running for the Senate or any other elected office.

      it's poll for chrissakes...

...and, last I checked, people in the United States are still allowed to change their state of residency to run for office.

People post "Joe Shmoe for Senate" diaries from time to time.  No one ever seems to ask the important question, "Does Joe Shmoe want to run for Senate" before they post though.  Somehow that never occurs to them.  But it seems even more cloudcuckooland when it's not even clear what state Joe Shmoe would run from.  Then you need to ask whether Joe Shmoe wants to move and where he would move to.  I guess it's a poll, and I'm sure everyone who voted "Yes" gets to express how much they like Joe Wilson, but I don't see what the point is beyond that.

was what the "Joe Shmoe for Senate" diaries are for.

          •  Why ask us? (none)
The person to ask about whether Joe Wilson wants to run for Senate is Joe Wilson, not us.

Might know the answer? Considering that this is just what happened on this diary, I find your point to be a little strange.

The diary didn't ask whether he wanted it or lived in an eligible state.  The diary asked whether we would support Joe Wilson for Senate.  My point is that there is no reason to ask that third question until the first two have been answered.
                •  Why not? (none)
I don't see why question C has to be dependent on A and B. Lots of "draft Joe Candidate for X" efforts get started by asking "would you support Joe if he ran for X?" Sometimes a potentially candidate might not be interested in running for office, until he sees the kind of support he has. For this reason, a diary like this is still productive, even with out questions A and B.
