  •  Only 44% believe Climate Change is caused by (0+ / 0-)

human activity - as presented from diary's link.  This is a far more important number than the fraction that believes climate change is occurring.  The better polling number to know is the percentage who believes climate change is largely caused by human activity and that the damage it will cause is very significant - which will be a number lower than 44%.

When it comes to taking the large scale and costly government actions needed to make a significant difference in climate change the public has not been sufficiently persuaded.

If Senate Democrats believed their was strong public support, they would be pushing for votes on meaningful legislation.  However, all they did remarkable was to have an long overnight talking event that did not advocate for any meaningful legislation.

Let's see if Senate Democrats actually propose significant legislation before summer.

The most important way to protect the environment is not to have more than one child.

    •  The other link shows about 75% (0+ / 0-)

The second link, http://www.salon.com/... showed about 75% accept it's man-made, so I'm splitting the difference. There was probably a difference in the wording of the question or the specific samples they surveyed.

The percentage who think it's a high priority is low, so again, a reason to stop arguing over whether it's real.

    •  There is significant legislation already... (0+ / 0-)

...proposed (two bills by Boxer and Sanders). The problem is getting it out of committee.

Don't tell me what you believe, show me what you do and I will tell you what you believe.
