    As I understand it, the seat has been held by a Republican for nearly 6 decades.  Alex came very close, perhaps as close as any Dem could have, but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

    She is having a difficult time picking her battles, and frankly, I'm a bit surprised she took on this one.  The real downside is, when a candidate develops a "loser patina", it's kind of hard to wash away in the future.  

    A rematch in November?  Doubtful.  That would be a seriously dumb play on Ms. Sink's part.  Now, had she kept her powder dry and let a token Dem run against Jolly now, and then taken him on in November (when Crist will bring out a lot of Dem voters), it might have been a different story.

    My Floridian $.02, for whatever it's worth.

    Dems here can't seem to organize a senior citizen bus trip to Gatorland, must less a political campaign.

      as bad a race as she ran, she was really the best candidate (conservadem) we could field.  At some point it's on the voters.
