    of a character in a Neil Gaiman book who described her job as "I rent my body," either deliberately or accidentally misleading the protagonist into thinking she was a prostitute rather than a warrior for hire.

        I knew there was more to it than "I rent my body" but couldn't remember the rest.

        Google has helped me out, though:

        “What do you do?” he asked.

        She smiled. “I sell personal physical services.”

        “Oh,” he said. “What kind of personal physical services?” he asked.

        “I rent my body.” She did not elaborate.

        “Ah.” He was too weary to pursue it, to press her to explain just what she meant; he had an idea, though.

        Poor Richard Mayhew.  So utterly out of his depth for the entire book.
