  •  That's fine. It just needs to be done. (4+ / 0-)

The exchanges and plans differ but the income and subsidies are the same nation wide and the benefits are the same nation wide.

I did mention a state specific insert with the real plans and premiums that are state specific.

    •  subsidies are not the same (6+ / 0-)

the states that refused funding are intentionally trying to sabotage the ACA.

I doubt the train will derail as you say. The congressional map is what it is. It's a toss up for control on the Senate. Which is not exactly directly related to the ACA. We didn't kill the filibuster completely so we will still have some power even if we lose the Senate. Obama also has veto power. So the end result isn't much different than it is today in regard to legislation. Nothing shall be done. Expect more of the same from Republicans. Budget battles and taking hostages.

    •  You are fogetting that the GOP has fought... (7+ / 0-)

...every step of the way, trying to find ways too keep this administration from informing the public.  For example, mailers sent out with information about the PPACA to medicare/medicaid recipients was challenged as being deemed an inappropriate use of federal funds by the house committee of ways and means, citing that it violates the prohibition of using appropriated funds for disseminating propaganda.  I do not recall how the GAO ruled on that, but I do remember hearing that the GOP has found ways to prevent info from getting out.  Including some states creating obstacles for even state navigators from being able to discuss it with people.

theoretical and because they could be potential penalties for non-compliance, the government has a responsibility to inform the public about the law.

I think it is similar to information about the draft and keeping people up to date with their SS accounts.

I think it would behoove Dems in states coming up for re-election to make this public awareness project part of their re-election effort. But, you do have some weenie Dems who are trying to distance themselves from the ACA or who are focusing on "fixes" as opposed to the flat out benefits.
