friend of mine for the past 15 years was in vietnam told just a few weeks ago when he returned and was leaving edwards afb he was spit on.   What I don't know was whether there are elements within the pentagon who would stage this in order to turn sentiment against the anti-war crowd.  I have a hard time believing that anti-war protesters hated the soldiers and would express themselves in such a fashion but they definitely hate war like I do.  Given how corrupt the govt seems these days, nothing would surprise me about elements within it.

school I attended when I returned from Vietnam.  I do not know if I felt this and it wasn't real or not. I do know that I quickly learned never to talk about my experiences in Vietnam as a combat soldier. This was 1969.  I do not recall being spit on though.

Maybe it was really fear that just shifted to hate. I have to rent a place to be near work these days due to being on call and my roommate was in Afghanistan, he does not want to talk about being there and doesn't want people at work to even know he's a veteran.
