  •  Agree. Most of us are to the (9+ / 0-)

    left of any Dem presidential candidate with a chance to win. So we're always faced with the same exact conundrum. I'm a pragmatist. Go with the best dude (or now, dudette). Same goes for every other office. I support whoever is most electable in primaries, and whoever is the Democrat in generals.

      for moving the country further to the left does not really involve politicians. It involves talking to people, at every opportunity, not about politics but about issues. Whatever issue you think will engage them most is the one to start with, and build from there.

      If we wait for politicians to make people think, we'll be waiting too long. And this is not about "Dems suck at messaging" (even though they mostly do), it's about the fact that many many people never hear a word that a politician says. They're not getting the message because the message doesn't interest them.

      Being interested in politics, we tend to forget how many people are completely uninterested. They just don't care. But most of them care about issues, whether or not they realize it.

      Make them realize it.
