  •  What does that mean? (0+ / 0-)

I don't think anyone wants to directly attack Russian troops.

But do you stand against placing troops in Ukraine at the request of the Ukraine government to make it impossible for Russia to invade without starting a war with us?

What about helping Ukraine defend its airspace and territorial waters?  Crimea has no land connection to Russia, so if we help Ukraine protect its east and control Ukraine's own airspace and territorial waters Putin will be left holding his weenie in his hand with no way to put it back in its pants.

How far does your opposition to US military intervention go?  If Putin tries to send troops into Lithuania or Poland do you still stand against US military intervention?

    •  I am no fan of Putin or the ultra-nationalists... (0+ / 0-)

...and fascists in his ever-more centralized government. But I have yet to hear him make any claims on the Baltic states or on Poland. Perhaps you could enlighten me.

So far, it's just Crimea. And, while I am also no fan of remaking the post-Cold War borders, that peninsula has a rather complicated history in which the Russian empire and its Soviet successor ran things for a lot more years than than independent Ukraine has done.

Don't tell me what you believe, show me what you do and I will tell you what you believe.

few weeks ago, so I don't see the relevance of his not having made any claims on Poland or the Baltics until now.

If Russian troops invade Poland do you support sending in the US military and starting to shoot?  What about Lithuania, Latvia, or Estonia?
