  •  Great news and a sign of things to come (7+ / 0-)

The important thing to rememeber about any rollout is that there is a knock on effect over time as people hear about it from their friends and family. Sure, the bad rollout prevented people from signing up quickly but over time there is going to be a slow growth as people find out that its not that hard, that navigators will help them, and that at the end of the sign up there is an enormous benefit to them.

The second enrollment period and all periods going forth are going to go faster and faster because eventually we will reach a tipping point, especially for people in small communities which have had historically low rates of health insurance coverage. When enough people you know are covered, people will get covered if they can.

    •  Speaking of the 2nd enrollment period... (0+ / 0-)

does anyone know what happens April 1st when the open enrollment period ends? Do the people that want to sign up after March 31st need to wait a certain amount of time to sign up for healthcare or can they sign up right away?

Just wondering as I'd love for the enrollment number to keep climbing without any lag during the spring and summer so that Dems can continue to brag about it on the campaign trail.
