    •  I only got (6+ / 0-)

called that in the military and it was typically the guys called me that. The women just used my name or shortened version of my middle name which I hated, Maggie. I prefer Margaret if you are going to call me by my middle name. My mum was the same way. Everybody called her Pat or Patricia, which was her middle name because Jamesina was too hard for people or something. Even our daughter's name had to be shortened and she has a beautiful name. Son couldn't pronounce her name at all when he started speaking, so she has been sis for over 20 yrs for him and we call him little man. At 5'11 he's no little man but he still gets called that by us and his sister just calls him babba.

Don't watch it dad, you will have brain cells jumping to their suicide. Me, when I learned dad had been watching Fox.

outside of our family called her that.

My sister called me "Tuta" until she was about six. Many of my friends still call me "Tuta".

        •  Husband calls (4+ / 0-)

his oldest sister Ate (atay), his younger one bunso and his youngest sister calls him kuya and I forget the word for his older sister to address him. It's a seniority thing how you address people in Tagalog. I never get that right at all so I just call them their names.
