  •  What the F$&*? Let me translate this: (12+ / 0-)

Hillary is too old to be President, because her life expectancy is only another 15 years if she was elected.

Forget about Margaret Thatcher (born in 1925, PM from 1979-1990:  isn't she a WSJ ICON????).

Forget about Golda Meier (born in 1898, PM from 1969-1974; another WSJ favorite).

What they are really saying in code:

She is an old hag.  Yes really...they are a sexist misogynistic bunch.

    GO HILLARY!!!!!

    •  Forget about John McCain. . . . . (0+ / 0-)

if only he would stop going on the Sunday talk shows and trying to be relevant.

Was born Feb. 1911.... He was 69 when he was elected: he turned 70 a few weeks after being sworn in. He was re-elected 4 years later.
Obviously there were plenty of people at the time who didn't have a problem with his age.

This is yet another distraction tactic.

      •  And there were plenty of people who did... (0+ / 0-)

... and plenty more should have. Look at his mental state by the end of his presidency. And William Henry Harrison, the next oldest president, died in 30 days.

    •  I'm not getting your math (0+ / 0-)

From those dates, Thatcher would have been 54 when she entered office, and younger when she left office (65) than Hillary is now.

Age is a valid concern. Think of how many times the phrase "a heartbeat away from the Presidency" was used in relation to shudder Palin, and how much that hurt McCain. Hillary would be the second oldest president by about 9 months to Reagan at inauguration. How old would Hillary have to be, before you stop seeing it as "sexism OBVIOUSLY"?
