but Adam Lanza's father just last week said he wished his son had never been born.

That's just one reason I like to say, "Abortion is good."

I've talked with a number of women (and their husbands) who ended pregnancies. In every case that I have knowledge of, the abortion was good for everyone involved. Every other alternative was worse.

And I've known a few cases where the decision was not to have an abortion. Often enuff it was forced on the woman and her man by religious zealot parents, and it was wrong for the woman, her man, and the hapless child.

Someone put that AE Housman poem in their signature here. I knew someone (who was) like Adam.

it would have been better to have adaquate mental health care in the United States and a mother who didn't stock pile an arsenal of weapons when she knew her troubled son could gain access to them but I concede your point.  I agree that there are people who should definitely not have children.

I think it speaks volumes about the father / son relationship that a father would say that.  If my son detonated a nuclear bomb killing a billion inocent people, I still would never regret that he was born.  I love him too much to ever regret his presence in my life.  I would regret whatever illness or ideology that caused him to do such a heinous act and I would regret any failings that I may have contributed to that state of mind but I could never regret the mere existence of my child.

Maybe they didn't share that kind of love and therefor it may have been easier for Adam Lanza to be able to look at an innocent child and kill him or her without that feeling... I really have know idea what went through his mind or what his mental state was but I thought it was a strange thing for a parent to say.
