People are capable of doing more than one thing at a time. I can laugh at him as I'm focusing on other more important stuff.

But he remains part of a scrim of distracting chatter that obscures serious attention to thefifty-some-odd fronts that are at play. And although we are all reasonably bright and capable, there are a lot of things to worry about. I'd argue that you could probably pick a good 20 things that are ongoing in my state (FL) that will not all be solved simply by getting rid of Rick Scott. I would imagine this is also true in WI, MI, OH, PA and AZ.

They keep Preibus because a) the central party isn't significant to these people; they want the power in the hands of the superset of the super-PACs, and b) our system as it stands excourages the saying of stupid shit because it leads to contributions, and to a large part of political culture, the money is too good to simply walk away from to do shit like governing. In this sense, among other things, Citizen United was one big, fat McNally-Messersmith.

Have you heard? The vice president's gone mad. - Bob Dylan, 1966
