  •  They ought to impeach the CIA and NSA heads (4+ / 0-)

I know impeachment has to start in the House, but Boehner and the House Republicans ought to be just as concerned about this as the Senate is.

I'd say both should be impeached, and even if they immediately resign, the Senate should convict them both and impose the penalty that they can never hold a position of "honor, Trust or [whatever it is that the Constitution says the Senate can prohibit] under the United States."

I don't have a copy of the Constitution handy right now.  I need to bring one to work.

We're all pretty strange one way or another; some of us just hide it better. "Normal" is a dryer setting.

    •  And just pretend the President is not complicit? (6+ / 0-)

These are not junior figures way down in the bureaucracy of one of the obscure departments, these are principal appointees, members of his direct nat/sec advisory council. We cannot pretend the President is some innocent bystander.

He either owns this entirely, or he's just a foil; which option do you find puts him a more pleasing light?

I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do, because I notice it always coincides with their own desires. - Susan B. Anthony

      •  I think he owns it, but if impeachment of Brennan (0+ / 0-)

or Alexander reached the floor of the House, I like to think Obama would read the handwriting on the wall and clean house.

is able to "clean house" at the CIA. It's the very definition of the Deep State.

… the NSA takes significant care to prevent any abuses and that there is a substantial oversight system in place,” Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California), said August 23.
