  •  Finite resources and NASA warnings (2+ / 0-)

Oil is the driver of the world's industrialized economy. Without oil there would be no Green Revolution, making it possible to sustain 6 billion people on earth. Oil has provided abundant electricity, fertilizer, insecticides, pharmaceuticals, plastic and more. Yet the world's easily obtainable oil could be all gone by the end of the century. This is not hyperbole. Anyone who has taken an earth science class knows that oil is a finite resource. And NASA strongly hinted this week that we are within sight of the collapse of civilization due to accelerating resource depletion. But instead of planning for a future without abundant hydrocarbons, wealthy parasites like the Koch Brothers will stop at nothing to amass the wealth and power they crave to stave off catastrophe. They are modern-day pharaohs building monuments to their immortality. They and their ilk plan to survive in their modern-day castles surrounded by men-at-arms while 99 percent of humanity slips into another Dark Age. Is it any wonder the Kochs would work diligently to keep the masses ignorant? If all of us would only look up from our TV sets and computer screens, we would know to loath the Koch Brothers. It is their blind greed that is stealing the time and resources we need to prepare for the all-to-predictable challenges that are clearly on the way.
