  •  I have a bad feeling about these midterms (14+ / 0-)

To the plutocratic dark money that will trash Obamacare and target progressive leaders at the local and national level add that the big money behind Hillary Clinton will sit out the midterms.

Throw in too the emerging split between us and the Third Way.

If the Democratic party loses the Senate, Obamacare is history and all bets are off for 2016.

We need leadership at the national level and other than Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders (?) I don't see any.

I'll do what I can as most Kossacks will but we are up against a powerful and evil enemy.

Until Citizens United is overturned by a constitutional amendment we are on the losing side of politics.

Then again the Repugs may nominate Rand Paul or Ted Cruz.

    Just thinking aloud.

Daily Kos an oasis of truth. Truth that leads to action.

They are the only two we can count on, and Bernie's a socialist!  OMG, the sky is falling.

I'm telling you... the solution is not in elections. Politics is a dirty business for the elected officials to get elected and make money paid to them by the corporations!

Don't fall into the trap.  Do what you can when you can, but think about leading a Meet Up group, build a site to encourage others to drop off the technology and get their hands in the dirt of Mother Earth.

      Think about it.

And damnit... do not give money to any of them except Warren or Sanders.  They will take your money, the bank's money and get elected.  And you'll never see them again.

      mandate too much.

They'll "reform" it.  The weak-as-fuck employer mandate will be gone.  Subsidies will decrease at the bottom and rise at the top.  The Medicaid expansion will be gone.  Coverage will get even worse.

But you can bet they'll find excuses to avoid outright repeal.

the era of unchallenged Court supremacy and its feeding with sanguine amendments, could be over if Roberts permits the expected  in McCutcheon. There's nothing wrong with legislation, as civil rights proved. Nothing wrong with Congress by up or down vote stripping the Court of its pretended jurisdiction to veto anticorruption legislation. The opportunity could be not just to back it off by waving a cross, but to drive a silver stake into the heart.
