    the policy or, worse, push a policy that actually refutes those values, it doesn't work. You become a fake, a hypocrite.

    Also when you get into a heated argument and you make arguments that tear apart your values or defend your policy at the expense of your values, you become a fake.

    I agree that it's very hard to change the framing right now due to no serious support of traditional Democratic values and the aping of failed conservative policies.

    We have the discipline to pop off a couple of sound bytes in a diverse, multi-part harmony chorus - if the policy fits the traditional values of the Democratic party.

    It just would not be a tight script. It would simply be an additional requirement, and we could each get creative with expressing it. But when the policy runs counter to traditional Democratic values it falls apart and it's hard to handle message discipline.
