  •  I told the only chick I've been with... (9+ / 0-)

...that I thought I might be gay about a year-and-a-half into my relationship with her. I was scared to death to say it to her, and I immediately swore in the exact same breath that I had only just thought it but that I knew for sure that I was straight. A year later, I couldn't hold my attraction for men in any more and I came out. We broke up as a result, but she remains, to this day, my best friend. I am so glad she didn't reject me, as, I feel, she had every right to do so. She totally could've hated me, but instead, she actually showed me what every Christian should be and told me that she believed that if I was gay that God made me that way. I was 19 at the time, and it was the first time in my life that I had heard someone say that; until then, I thought everyone believed God hated gay people. Not surprising to some, but her personal branch of Christianity: Episcopalian.
