  •  We're arguing legal ideals here (0+ / 0-)

and certainly the more liberal members of the Supreme Court are deep in consideration of those.  The case is absurd on its legal merits to anyone that's studied or even had casual knowledge of the Constitutional evolution.

I think, much like the ACA case, that this boils down to which corporations the conservative members are beholding to.  I have all along said that the health insurance and pharmaceutical companies are steadfastly behind the ACA and I believe they are also behind the contraceptive coverage.  It's basic dollars and cents to them.  Pregnant women who deliver cost them more money than preventing or terminating childbirth.  The government is throwing cash at them to add more people to their roles and they're happy as long as the next step of full single payer is held off as long as possible.  If ACA is successful, they probably have another decade or so of wonderful profits before the tide towards single payer eventually pushes them to the sidelines.

I believe John Roberts takes his marching orders from them and not the Koch Brothers.  I'm pretty much certain he was told how to vote on the ACA ruling.
