Did he give money Gingrich even though he didn't think he could win?  And what in Gingrich's resume didn't fit his ideal candidate profile vis-a-vis the other candidates in 2012?

Call me a pinko-communist - but these people have too much money.

investments in 2012, I constantly wonder where are all the Democrat billionaires that could be pumping hundreds of millions of dollars into our candidates' coffers?  I guess it just comes down to their billionaires being more passionate than ours are.  Sure, batshit crazy.  But more passionate about their batshit crazy agenda than our billionares are about their agenda.  That a majority of the country wants, by the way.  Too bad.  My fantasy is that a coalition of people like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, etc. come out and say "we are against the influx of money they Citizens United ruling injected into our political system, so we are going to match dollar for dollar everything spend by the Koch brothers, Adelson, Rove, etc. to neutralize it all.  Until such time Citizens United is overturned via legislation".  Hey, I can dream.

The fantasy that there was some pure golden age when money did not control politics is just that -- fantasy. It was official in 1776 that only white male property owners (above a certain minimum) could vote at all. The "Founding Fathers" included merchants, large plantation owners, etc. etc. and (despite Jefferson's utopian odes to ordinary yeomen farmers) not a single person who could be considered working-class.

That's why there is the electoral college. They knew we would not evolve beyond a certain point.  Thats why Republicans gerrymander with elections.  They are the living Devils in our society.

...because as a person who is pro-Israeli genocide he had to make sure someone was going to push the political discussion towards bombing Iran at every opportunity.

Allowing Israeli interests to own both parties has severely disfigured our political discourse.  We must start treating Israel as it deserves, like apartheid South Africa.
