  •  It is truly amazing (7+ / 0-)

the lengths some of these state government officials will go just to stop or delay marriage equality. While I knew that Regnerus' "study" was bogus, I had no idea he would be such a poor witness at the trial. And, I'm both surprised and delighted that the judge called him out on it so bluntly in his opinion. Nevertheless, 40K is a lot of (taxpayer) money to spend on such nonsense.

in previous trials have not been surprised at all to find that he is just as bad at it as ever. They all are.

in any other marriage equality bench trial? I don't think there have been any since his "study" was released.

To my knowledge, there have only been three marriage equality bench trials at the federal district court level ... Hawaii, California, and now Michigan. Pennsylvania has one coming up soon (in June, I believe).

This is the first case in which he was called as an "expert witness". Obviously I have confused him with one of the other crank "expert witnesses" whose "research" has been thoroughly discredited.
