    •  And I also found this accusation in 2007 here (19+ / 0-)

      Did Debra Wong Yang get $1.5 million to stop investigating Rep. Jerry Lewis?

      Let me say that again so there is no confusion: She was in charge of the case against Rep. Jerry Lewis. He is being defended against these charges by Gibson Dunn in Los Angeles. Ms Yang received $1.5 million from the firm defending Rep. Lewis, Gibson Dunn, to leave the Justice Department where she was prosecuting Rep. Lewis.
      In Lewis is a "special" Repug;
      In its 2009 report, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) named Lewis one of the 15 most corrupt members of Congress, saying that his "ethics issues stem primarily from the misuse of his position as chairman of the House Appropriations Committee to steer hundreds of millions of dollars in earmarks to family and friends in direct exchange for contributions to his campaign committee and political action committee."[14]
      Lewis was also included in the group's report in 2006, 2007, and 2008.[14]
      In 2006, a federal grand jury subpoenaed records from various San Bernardino County organizations and agencies in an investigation into Lewis's alleged abuse of power as chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. He was accused of steering hundreds of millions of dollars in earmarks to family and friends in exchange for contributions to his campaign.
      In 2010, the U.S. Department of Justice closed the case without filing charges. It was never submitted to federal prosecutors. [15]
      Christie picked a good one.

      Daily Kos an oasis of truth. Truth that leads to action.
