    agree that $33k a year would be way too high now, but maybe not 20-30 years from now if automation doubles or triples current unemployment rates and there simply are no jobs for roughly half the population.

    If the rate was $15k a year, though, that would keep a lot of people from being homeless and starving, but almost anyone making that would still either want to work or want to put themselves in a position to work (ie get job training they'd then be much more likely to have time for and afford).

    I don't see anyone saying, "fuck work" if they make $15k a year.
