    Then they suffer and die after subsidizing the more well off.

    It's another example of how the system is set up to suck the lower income people dry then discard them.

    All while the higher income people look down on the lower income people, many not realizing they live because the lower income people don't.

      going up, they probably figure there will always be more desperate people willing to do what ever it takes to survive and in essence continue to prop up the lavish lifestyles and profiteering of the 1%.

      If the population were shrinking, there would be fewer and fewer people willing to do the mundane, low paying jobs and the 1% would have to start offering more money, or incentives and eventually both to keep themselves pampered and the machines grinding away.

      Part of me wonders if that's why they don't care about sea level rise. Their insurance will compensate them for their beach-front houses, government will pay for damages to cities, and populations will flee to areas where they can find any work available for any price.

      Most of the 1% love poor and desperate people. And I don't mean in the Jesus way.
