  •  One thing that T-pubs don't want to deal with is (7+ / 0-)

the fact that for many people, especially as they get older, an ignored and untreated illness can completely destroy their ability to work. Then they end up on disablity and higher medical costs all around. If someone ignores a heart problem that could be easily treated with medication then they may end up unable to work and having an expensive heart surgery, courtesy of the taxpayers. If the person is lucky he may be able to return to work. But many people end up on permanent disability. I would like to see someone do come up with some stats that show the economic effect of NOT HAVING INSURANCE. Actually I am sure someone has already done that so perhaps I should do a search. I am convinced that Republicans are only concerned with short-term gains, which is the biggest problem with our capitalistic society. No one cares about the future, whether it be with health care, the Wall Street Bankers, big business, or with climate change.

It isn't gay people that will destroy our civilization. It is GREED.

If billionaires can afford to spend millions of dollars so that they can avoid paying taxes and fair wages, then they *can afford* to pay taxes and fair wages!

    •  If someone had fixed my husband's knees (0+ / 0-)

when he was in his forties, he could probably still work.

as it is, he's currently filing for disability.

I might be able to work part time if I had my ankles fixed.

When you come to find how essential the comfort of a well-kept home is to the bodily strength and good conditions, to a sound mind and spirit, and useful days, you will reverence the good housekeeper as I do above artist or poet, beauty or genius.
