completely unaware that this was already allowed & his fearful predictions didn't come to pass.

I don't particularly care about these laws; they've been on the books in a number states and the hysterical prediction of 'blood in the streets' has proven to be false.

It is much ado about nothing.

    •  No dismay (0+ / 0-)

      I just don't see whether it's relevant.

There are ways to debate the issue, and there are ways to avoid debating the issue.

In general, it's pretty simple to tell which is which.

I assume you are meaning to imply that because there wasn't an increase in homicides, then it must be okay?

I realize it makes no sense to talk about the number of homicides in the US due to guns, so I guess we won't.

Are we now using gun deaths as a substantive statistic in this debate now? I'm up for that.

      •  Actually I think it is very pertinent that a (0+ / 0-)

law that causes the diarist to decide that its too scary to visit an entire state has already been in effect for 4 years without the diarist even noticing.

I assume you are meaning to imply that because there wasn't an increase in homicides, then it must be okay?

No. I was meaning to state that "I don't particularly care", which is the reason why I specifically said "I don't particularly care".
However, as you assumedly do care, why?
It hasn't led to anything untoward in any of the states that have had this policy.
"Are we now using gun deaths as a substantive statistic in this debate now?"
I hate to break it to you, but I'm fairly certain this may have been brought up once or twice before.
