    Denali, half of it is protected as forever wild. there was talk of converting a portion of it to a national park in the 60s, about 1.7 million acres if memory serves. it didnt go anywhere of course. i picture the Maine north woods as a larger version of Adirondock, at 10 million acres, it would be 1.5 times the size of the park. or bigger than death valley and denali combined.
