  •  Hayes gave her the opening when he said 133% (5+ / 0-)

of the poverty level, then she went off on the $94,000 lie.  Had he started the conversation with "$31,700, 133 per cent of the poverty level for a family of four people", she would not have had the opening to make up $94,000 which is 400 percent of the poverty level for a family of 4, and of course such a family would be ineligible for both Medicaid or a subsidy.

I also agree that by personalizing it to the loudmouth liar, Hayes gave her another means to ramp up the outrage non sequitur.  There's nothing to say that she wouldn't have found some other premise, any other premise to take the edge in the rhetorical debate, but if Hayes has someone like her on again, he should be prepared, if they take off on the $94,000 tangent, simply put the number $31,700 family of 4, 133% of poverty level.  If you state a fact, be prepared to show the entire fact and take the lie out of her mouth.  If she won't play by the rules, change the rules to one she can't cheat on.

Republicans are like alligators. All mouth and no ears.
