  •  I remember that shirt. (9+ / 0-)

You wore it constantly for years.

    •  Well, I wore it for a year actually (9+ / 0-)

but pretty constantly. I miss Grateful Dead shows. Maybe it's time to drop some acid...

      •  I have a man's dress shirt (8+ / 0-)

and a long sleeved tee that we bought at a concert on their last tour. I still wear them now and then but the shirt especially is getting ragged and it fits me like a short dress, lol.

The shirt is like the art above, all rainbows and the tee is is shades of deep blue and purple. I love them both. It's funny, I was cleaning my fridge magnets and came across the Grateful Dead Hot Line magnet from the same era, right before we lost Jerry.

And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County Down by the Green River where Paradise lay. Well, I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away. John Prine

        •  Nice. (4+ / 0-)

I was at the World Music Theatre in Tinley Park, IL on July 22, 1990. It was the last show before keyboardist Brent Mydland died of a speedball OD four days later.

It was a fantastic show with an incredible (many said prophetic) event mid show. There was a comet overhead that became visible to the audience. People were freaking out and eventually word of it made way tot he band.

At some point Bob Weir of Phil Lesh mentioned it tot he audience, saying something like "everyone look up" and then something I wish I could remember. Surely there is a bootleg on the net somewhere.

When Mydland died a few days later everyone was like, "woah."

Really stuck with me ever since.

I can't say that anything prophetic happened during the concert, it was just very good. There were a lot of shows that came after the one we went to in fact my daughter and her friends went down to the show in Vegas and damn near cooked to death. She told me they spent all their non-concert time in Lake Mead to keep from frying.
