  •  Brian, if you want to try your hand at a Julie, (4+ / 0-)

there is a very handy website.

I use it a lot. But that's because I need all the help I can get.

Yes, DailyKos DOES have puzzles! Visit us here Saturday nights @ 5:00 PDT (easier puzzles) and Sunday nights @ 5:00 PDT (more challenging) for a group solving. Even if you just pop in and comment while watching the fun, everybody is welcome. uid:21352

I was in the weeds until the secret was revealed to me.

Julie Waters designed her puzzles without any help at all.

She always said she didn't invent this puzzle style, but I've asked everyone, up to and including Will Shortz, if they have heard of this puzzle style anywhere else. They have not.

I firmly believe that Julie invented this type of puzzle herself, even if she never took credit for it.

But this is our puzzle and apparently ours alone, and we have Julie Waters to thank for it.

Julie is gone. But we will remember her forever (or as long as the Internet or Internet archives exists).

          Julie Waters, we miss you.

And by the way, her light paintings and music totally rocked, too.

I became familiar with here, both from the music and some simpatico views in comments. I did not know her well at all, but it was obvious how fond people were of her. I'm glad we keep this tradition alive.
