    "Mid-Michigan leaders who did not rule out a run for the seat included Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero, a Democrat, state Rep. Sam Singh, D-East Lansing, state Sen. Joe Hune, R-Whitmore Lake, Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum, a Democrat and former state representative. And being prominently mentioned is former state Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop, R-Rochester.

    Also considered a viable candidate is Rogers’ older brother, state Rep. Bill Rogers, R-Brighton. He could not be reached Friday for comment."
