I'm glad to see I am not alone in appreciating the Timeless Way of Building.

After attending the meetings in Vallejo I'm struck by the numerous voices I heard coming from the community longing for a better life and a better community space to live in.

At one of the meetings we were told that having so much public input was unusual, and most cities have a much more closed process.

My friend Ojibwa, last week, noted that his city government did not have a open public process such as the meetings I attended. Is the the new normal in America? I'm fearful that the institutions of public governance are under attack or worse just being forgot.

Sometimes I feel like I'm tilting at wind mills.  That for all the good ideas I come up with the system in place will remain unresponsive to a new vision. (The inertia of the money in flow resists change you know.)

The only hope I have is that I have met hundreds of fellow citizens in my community that want something better.  I'm attempting to mobilize them.

Good ideas as found in the The Timeless Way of Building help me think there is a better way of doing things.

    Best,

    Jon
