    Premiums were rising annually even before the ACA was under discussion, let alone when it became law.

    But now, under the ACA:

    Lifetime coverage limits are removed.

    Preventative care is now completely covered.

    Women are no longer paying higher premiums than men.

    Premium increases now must be justifiable.

    80% of premium dollars now must be spent on actual care and not salaries. If not, you'll get a refund.

    Our children can remain on our policies until they're 26 -- 8 years longer than before.

    Insurance companies can no longer refuse coverage if an illness causes an individual to no longer be considered "profitable."

    And a lot of people have this coverage for the first time. They'll never know how things used to be.

    This is what you're paying for now -- real health care. It's not perfect, and I agree that a public option and universal coverage via a tax increase is preferable, but this is what we've got. It's so much better than it was.
