  •  The "repeal" thing will continue. (0+ / 0-)

Even though, in fact because, they know they'll never repeal it. They will continue to campaign and fundraise off of promising to repeal it. Like Roe v. Wade, they will get far more electoral and fundraising mileage out of promising to eliminate it than they could ever get from actually doing it.

Can we put a stake in this "they'll never repeal it because it's a great fundraiser" myth? They ARE effectively repealing it all across the country. It is frustrating to me right now that on one hand we see marriage equality gaining inexorable momentum and on the other, people are treating the advancing destruction of women's reproductive rights like it was no big deal. Hell yes, they want to repeal Roe V. Wade and for women who are not affluence they've pretty much done it.

The assault on reproductive rights is very real, and very troubling. But it's also very focused and very selective, as you pointed out:

for women who are not affluence [sic] they've pretty much done it.
Meaning, they don't want to outlaw abortion and eliminate reproductive rights altogether. They want to do that just for certain people. Which is horrible. But overturning Roe v. Wade and eliminating the right to reproductive choice altogether, they don't want that. They want to keep that option open for their own wives, daughters and mistresses.
