    writing classes there and fell in love with the place. Earlham is one of the few colleges in America that works with students who had alternative HS education programs.  Kids like mission educated kids from foreign countries, Home-Schooled students, kids who were on a travel circuit with parents, and other such alternative experiences are helped get into a degree program.

      potential. And there were ongoing contacts and involvement with missionary work.

      At the same time, their reputation for academic achievement and requirements is pretty respectable. The reason I chose it was that, at the time (1978) 97% or their pre-med grads and 95% of their pre-vet students were accepted on first application. And I had intended to go pre-vet.
