Lucky for me one can ride pretty much year-round in the Bay Area. Stationary bikes drive me nuts after 15 minutes, max.

My riding centers around AIDS/LifeCycle, which is the first week of June--545 miles over seven days; the longest day is 109 miles and there is another day that's approximately a century. I spend the rest of the year getting ready for it and I usually spend the summer taking it easy. Even though I grew up in the Northeast I don't do well in hot weather, particularly hot, humid weather. Anything over 80 degrees is bracing and enjoyable for about an hour but not so much after that.

Last Sunday's ride was 66 miles; this week coming up is 74. I really should start doing back to back rides on the weekend (last week wouldn't have been possible; it poured on Saturday).

Next goal is to learn how to use the Garmin I bought last Sunday.
