  •  Adelson's contributions to society in general (9+ / 0-)

Perhaps instead of making fun of his little hobby of trying to buy himself a pet politician (see Jabba the Hut and his little Kavorkian monkey) why don't we point out all the good he does for society.

Mr. Adelson runs big casinos,  he allows people to spend massive amounts of money on gambling, which isn't a bad thing really, don't we all want something for nothing?  How much more nothing can you get for your quarter than those lemons on the machines?  I can see playing cards, because you are actually interacting with other people creating lasting relationships, especially with those who provide the cards, tables, alcohol and smoky rooms.  And those roulette wheels, I think it is a well know fact that we can control where little things land when thrown at spinning objects, look how easy it is to find our contacts when dropped.  Almost takes the fun out it is such a predictable past time, oh and those half dressed ladies lurking around.  I am sort of miffed though there never seem to be any half dressed men there for the ladies.  Almost makes you think they are sexist.

Other pastimes provided by Mr. Adelson that he should be applauded for is providing a venue for glamorous access to drugs of all kinds, no discrimination there eh?  Oh and those young girls stolen from their homes and forced to service those good family values patrons.  Because having sex at home is for marriage and procreation, but those young things are just asking for it by being at those places anyway.  Wonder how many young boys there are, some people like them too and I am sure Mr. Adelson wants to provide pleasure for all of his clientele.

I could go on and on about the good Mr. Adelson provides to society in general, but I am sure he toots his own horn through the paper he publishes in Israel explaining the good of forcing people out of their homes, persecuting them and then blaming for their disadvantages.  He would do that in the US but Mr. Murdoch has beat him to it.

So really should we condemn him for wanting some pets, it must be hard work holding all that evil in check.

(BTW this is snark, I know Mr. Adelson's tailor is doing a fine job--really)

Trust me, Las Vegas casinos are family-friendly theme parks compared to what you find in his offshore properties.

I was mainly referring to, however the dirt is behind the themes in LasVegas too.

My bigger frustration is the pointed blindness of the media of following the leader and not really looking at the issues and the deep and dirty part of the money mongers.

    •  Good post, two cents. I agree with others here who (5+ / 0-)

say that Adelson, in his fervor and zeal for all things Israeli, belongs in Tel Aviv, not in this country. I'm sure he has at least one very luxurious penthouse there as well. Hey Adelson, the Palestinians have every bit as much right to live where they do as Israel's right to have their own country. The two could and would no doubt find a way to peacefully coexist if it wasn't for dirt bags who insist on keeping the pot roiled up, and the hatred flowing like hot honey. You're gonna love the 9th Ring when you finally do croak. Have fun.

but I won't be rude and say where I really think he belongs.

"keeping the pot roiled up, and the hatred flowing like hot honey"  a very good phrase because that is exactly what is happening in so many places and with so many of the politicians that have no qualifications other than to cash in on the hate and money.
