    It's not that he just said he disliked gay people, it's that he advocated (successfully) for the government to actively discriminate against gay people. There is a difference.

      failed. We'll never stop people from having bigoted opinions but when those opinions turn into actions we can't be expected to sit back and say, "Well, it's just their opinion." No, damn it, it's action and requires action from our side to counter it.

      Food processed to be nothing more than simple starches with two dozen flavorings and stabilizers added to make it appear to be food isn't "food". It's "feed" -- what you give to livestock to fatten them up for slaughter.

        ...I was more like trying to refine my thoughts about it. I think the word "opinion" just triggered a thoughtpath for me in reaction to multiple comments posted here on the past couple of days (not yours) that did try to label Eich's actions as just being a difference of opinion. You focused on his specific action: the donation of money. I just wanted to emphasize that that donation was specifically for the implementation of discrimination.
