    reference to "The Bone Wars", when the two titans of American paleontology, Othniel Marsh and Edward Cope, fought each other viciously over nearly everything for over thirty years (1880-1910), going so far as to smash fossils in the ground so the other wouldn't dig them up.

    In the end, reality always wins.
