  •  Good morning (14+ / 0-)

I am busy taking a break and checking in.  I am in the process of rinsing and cleaning salad greens.  I have a sink full of stuff from the farm.  I am making up gallon bags to share with neighbors.  I have too much and cannot eat it all.  Some of them are Asian greens and others are common lettuce leaf varieties.  I just counted on my fingers there are 10 different types of greens going in the salad mix.  It is getting close to the end of the season here so we are getting whats left.  It will be hot in a couple of weeks and this stuff bolts in the heat.

I made a zucchini chocolate cake and zucchini bread today from the zucchini.  Froze kale and bok choi with out blanching. I read you can do this.  I thought I would try a bag of each for soup. I also read that you can make kale powder and use it like a seasoning in things.  If I get some kale next week I will dehydrate it and crush it finely.  I did that with all the cilantro and celery leaves I got this winter from the farm. The celery that grows here has thin ribs and large bushy leaves. I made my own celery salt and I still have a large baby food jar of just celery leaves. I also have a jar of dill weed too.  The rest of the herbs went into the freezer.

I think next year I will volunteer and get the share for free.  I only have to work 100 hours for it.

    Everyone have a good day.
