in our house. Mom would mush all the pieces together, roll it out, cut it into 1" wide strips, sprinkle the strips with cinnamon & sugar mix, and then bake in the oven until golden brown & delicious! One of my favorites!

Mom also saved bacon drippings with which to season fresh vegetables & dried beans, make country gravy, and to dip her baking soda biscuits in, top & bottom, prior to baking.

    •  Oh yes, I certainly never leave the dough! (4+ / 0-)

Never tried cinnamon-sugar, though - what a good idea. We use jelly on the cooked extra pieces. Mr pixxer sometimes just eats pieces of dough - a holdover from childhood - which seems pretty bizarre to me!

In my post I was talking about the pie dough surrounding a quiche left overnight in the fridge. It's dead, Jim. Just doesn't have anything on the out-of-the-oven crust. So I'm going to try making quiches small enough that there are no leftovers. If I want egg-pie leftovers, I'll make a frittata!
