    I could not believe it! Such a nice town. Back in the mid-1960's it barely had any buildings!

      old-timers here tell me that nothing from Clearwater Beach all the way down to Fort De Soto looks the same.

      Pinellas is now the most densely populated county in all of Florida--higher even than Miami-Dade.

      In the end, reality always wins.

        Clearwater Beach (right on the beach!) had a restaurant/souvenir store that was made of wood and was on stilts! (You had to go up wooden stairs to get in.) And the entrance was a screen door! It also had a small deck in the front with rocking chairs and other chairs. I can still see the old-timers smoking their pipes on that deck!
