I'd bet that if the CIA in the person of Robert "Go Ahead, Burn the Torture Tapes, It's Fine By Me" Eatinger had not referred Senate Select Committee on Intelligence staff to the Department of Justice for investigation and possible prosecution, we never would've heard a peep about any of this.

As it is, Sen. Feinstein has only asked for an apology from CIA Director Brennan—that was the action item in her oh-so-strongly-worded speech—and for the report summary to be declassified, not the report itself.

The CIA's hyperventilating about how they "lost" Sen. Feinstein is just more propaganda from them.

And then there's the fact that, as you alluded, Senators keep failing their responsibilities and giving their collective power to the executive branch. So much for that constitutional crisis. So far as we can tell, the Senate never really deigned to fight. Crisis averted: Constitution still not in effect.

Government and laws are the agreement we all make to secure everyone's freedom.
